During a one hundred day period, Gemma will aim to record her interactions with members of the public in a daily blog with each entry limited to a maximum of one hundred words. As a way to represent her everyday life in visual terms, the location of the encounters will be tracked on an interactive map and categorised by age of stranger, gender and place met.
For the purposes of this project, an interaction will be defined as an exchange involving two-way communication with a new acquaintance. Each blog will be prompted by a real life situation but will be a fictionalised version of events.
Gemma invites you to read the entries and comment on the content. Readers are also encouraged to speak to strangers and add their own one hundred word story in response to a post or as a separate contribution.
I have read only a few of your entries, but what I have read is truely amazing. You have amazing gift of writing that creates a sense of wonder. I was looking for other peoples blogs on their 100 day challenge. My pledge was to do something out of my comfort zone, scares me or something that I have put of for ages. I have not published my diary entries yet. Haven’t decided how to or how much to.
Thanks Janine, that’s lovely to hear. Put it online, I say. Play with wordpress, add your entries and see what happens!
